Description

Loose chaff from species-rich, late-cut Allgäu meadows is combined in meadow hay with important linseed-thistle oil. Thanks to the herbal oil, it is a dust and molasses-free hay alternative, which can also be fed soaked to horses with dental problems or allergies.

Details at a glance:

  • Low in fructan and starch, can therefore also be fed to horses with metabolic problems
  • Stimulates chewing activity and salivation
  • Higher nutritional value than normal hay or silage
  • A source of omega-3 fatty acids, silymarin from milk thistle and natural vitamin E
  • For complete replacement or partial supplementation of the basic feed. Mixed with the basic feed, it extends the feeding time.

Feeding Recommendation:

As basic feed or partial replacement:
approx. 1.0 to 1.5 kg per 100 kg bodyweight/day

To upgrade the basic feed ration:

Small horse/pony approx. 1.0 kg meadow hay to 2.0 to 4.0 kg hay
Thoroughbred approx. 1.5 kg meadow hay to 3.0 to 4.0 kg hay
Warmblood approx. 2.0 kg meadow hay to 5.0 to 6.0 kg hay

As a digestible structure to mix in with the concentrated feed:
Mix approx. 2 to 3 "handfuls" of meadow hay into the muesli.

Example ration per day for a horse with 600kg bodyweight as a complete hay substitute:
approx. 5.5 to 8.0 kg meadow hay

  • 1-litre Marstall Meadow Hay = approx. 100 grams

Feeding instructions:
Increase the quantity slowly at the beginning or mix with water if it is fed as a hay substitute. If the horse eats hastily, is nervous, old or drinks little, it is recommended to mix meadow hay generally 1:1 or 1:2 with water. Swelling is not necessary!
