The structural component of the horn substance keratin sulphate contains a high proportion of sulphur. The vitamin biotin is also important for the formation of keratin sulphate. Calcium is an important mineral for hoof wall maintenance and keratin stabilisation, while zinc is a crucial element for protein synthesis and horn substance.

Amino acids provide the necessary protein building blocks to support all three layers of the hoof: the outer, middle, and inner horn shell.

The hoof is a highly specialised horn shell consisting of three layers: an outer, a middle, and an inner layer. The hoof encases sensitive bones, nerves, connective tissue, and vessels. Its main function is to protect the underlying structures and to increase the surface area for the distribution of locomotor forces. Thus, the hoof is the foundation of the horse.

Hoofmaker contains the sulphur-rich amino acid methionine and the sulphur-rich nutrient methylsulphonylmethane. Each 20g sachet of HOOFMAKER contains a high amount of biotin (37.5mg).

Feeding recommendation:
