Description
In the first three years of the horse's life, the foundation stone is laid for the future. Wrong or one-sided nutrition during foal rearing can lead to diseases, some of which only become apparent in adulthood.
Breast milk is initially the most important nutritional component in the first three months of the foal's life. The foal can consume solid food just one month after birth. This includes pasture grass, some hay, but also concentrate feed. The quality of this early feeding is essential for the horse's later development.
Nutrients for skeletal development
The development of the skeleton and joints deserves special attention, which, as scientifically proven, is not only dependent on calcium and phosphorus, but also on a certain ratio of trace elements as well as specific vitamins. The nutrient ratios in Fohlengold have been optimised over the years with the help of experienced breeders. The minerals are predominantly of marine origin, particularly diverse and highly available.
Activation of enzymatic and bacterial digestion
In the first few weeks of life, enzymatic digestion develops in the small intestine. Feeding errors, poor stall hygiene and infections not only promote the development of pathogenic bacteria, but also inhibit the release of digestive enzymes. Diarrheal diseases can be the result. Certain nutrients in Fohlengold such as yeast, malt, linseed, herbs and an interesting combination of trace elements provide nutrients in a natural way that support the body in activating the digestive system of the small intestine and establishing a resistant colon flora.
High protein quality - demand-optimized amount of protein
The young horse has high demands of protein quality for growth, blood formation and hoof / hair development. A sufficient supply of essential amino acids must therefore be guaranteed. Please note that a high protein quality is not to be equated with a high protein content. Excess protein must first be metabolised - while consuming valuable nutritional components - and can therefore be counterproductive for joint development and the immune system. Fohlengold contains vegetable proteins of high biological value. They are also supplemented with the important amino acids.
Challenge for the immune system
Weaning from the mother is difficult for any foal. Weaning often coincides with the weather-related change of coat. Stress and any potential transports put a strain on the young animal, whose immune system is no longer stabilised by the mother's milk.
Fohlengold has been given a special formula of vitamins, yeast, and organic trace element compounds. The foal's specific nutritional requirements are completely covered. Fohlengold is an excellent nutritional basis for the healthy development of the foal and can help to prevent premature signs of wear and tear in adulthood.
Feeding recommendation:
Example: Foals with a final expected weight of 600kg
- 3rd week post-birth up to 3rd month: Fohlengold
- 4th month to 6th month: 0.5 to 1.5kg foal gold, mixed with the same amount of oats
- 7th month to 12th month: 1 to 2kg of foal gold, mixed with the same amount of oats
- 12th Month to 24th month: Dosage varies depending on the quality of pasture, gradually reduce Fohlengold.
- From the 24th month: Whole food pellets or oats
