Description
“The mares' bodies are treasure chests overflowing with gold. Nourish them well." (Emir Abd-el-Kader, 1808 to 1883).
With every foal, a mare reaches the limits of her resilience. Especially in the last months before the birth, the foal grows and the mare gives a part of herself for this new citizen with every pregnancy.
Developed on the basis of many years of experience in thoroughbred breeding. Proven broodmare feed for supplementary feeding from the 8th month of pregnancy.
Sensible protein / energy ratio
Equilac is characterised by a moderately increased but particularly high-quality protein content. With a targeted selection of raw materials and the combination of various protein and energy-supplying food components, nutrient synergies are generated that can avoid a one-sided oversupply.
Micronutrients optimized
Equilac contains all minerals, trace elements and vitamins as required and in a highly bioavailable form. Equilac is particularly characterized by the balanced ratio of trace elements to one another. Brewer's yeast, seedlings, many maritime components and other vital substances suppliers round off Equilac sustainably.
Exemplary feeding recommendation for a warm-blooded mare weighing 600kg:
Feeding from the beginning of the horse up to the 6th month of pregnancy:
The mare should be fed a high quality diet, but moderate in terms of energy supply.
1kg of hippolyte structure energetic
1 to 2kg of oats or a St. Hippolyt supplement
6 to 9kg of hay, best quality, straw for free intake
Additional doses of ß-carotene (St. Hippolyt "ß-carotene and garlic") and trace elements (eg MicroVital) about 3 months before the mating date improve the conception ability.
Feeding from the 6th month of pregnancy:
With average feed conversion and maintaining 1 - 2kg
Oats per day:
6th - 8th month of pregnancy:
Slowly add 1 to 2kg of Equilac (if you are fed with Equilac alone, the previous amount of concentrated feed is slowly replaced by Equilac).
9th - 11th month of pregnancy:
Increase Equilac to 2 - 3kg
1st - 5th month of lactation:
Increase the Equilac feeding up to 3kg, as the highest milk yield can be expected around the 3rd month of lactation.
from 5th month of lactation:
Gradually reduce Equilac to 1 - 2kg, then discontinue.
Hay:
Approx. 8kg (pregnancy) to approx. 10kg (lactation) and straw for free intake.
For heavier or lighter horses, the ration must be adjusted upwards or downwards by approx. 10-15% for every 100kg of body weight.
For special breeds, ponies and good feed converters, it is recommended to feed Equilac as a sole concentrate feed.
