Description
ß-Carotene is a precursor of vitamin A. equinova®'s Betacarotilyt meets the high vitamin A requirement of breeding horses and foals. Their increased needs for an adequate supply of vitamin A during the last trimester of pregnancy and while nursing can be met by supplementing ß-carotene.
Vitamin A is particularly important because it allows the horse to produce a sufficient amount of colostrum, supplying the foal with nutrients. Foals need the vitamin A they get from their mother's milk as they are not able to produce it themselves.
Feeding recommendation:
- Mares: 50 g *
- Stallions: 50 g **
* 2 weeks before to 2 weeks after insemination and 1 month before foaling until the end of the 2nd month of nursing.
