Description

Bone structure plays a major role in growth, sports or and bone diseases and is significantly influenced by feed. A lack of nutrients can make healing after bone disease difficult, and may lead to issues with bone density, bone growth, bone elasticity and bone regeneration. No. 21 Strong Bones provides a complex nutrient formulation from vine leaves and verbena, vitamins D and K, as well as the trace elements necessary for the formation of bones.
Vitamins D and K for Bone Formation
Vitamin K has a major influence on calcium and phosphate metabolism and promotes mineralisation and hardening of the bones. Vitamin K1 also plays a significant role on the effect on bone strength. It supports the formation of osteocalcin, a peptide hormone that increases calcium binding and promotes bone mineralisation. A higher vitamin K level is necessary for blood clotting. Osteocalcin also has a blood sugar-lowering function and promotes fat loss and thus counteracts EMS.
Trace elements and plant substances for bone structure
The trace elements manganese and copper serve to build up the bones (osteoid). The trace element boron is contained in vine leaves. Wine leaves and verbena are traditionally considered helpful for bone formation. Magnesium and calcium citrate have a de-acidifying effect and thus have a positive effect on the often over-acidified bone metabolism.
This product has been created to cover additional nutrient requirements. Ask your vet about using the Strong Bones to support bone injuries or diseases.
All the ingredients are selected for their high bioavailability and are embedded in a special plant formulation. The recipe does not contain any fillers. Vitamins D2, D3 and K1 are synthetic. For vitamin K, expensive and high-quality phylloquinone was used, the bone-building effect of which has been scientifically confirmed in connection with vitamin D. The recipe is free of flavourings and preservatives, so that the metabolism is not strained by use and the synergetic effect of the individual nutrients comes into play.
Feeding recommendation:
- For large horses, use 3 measuring spoons full per day (45g), For foals use 30g, and for yearlings and two-year-olds use 45g.
- Due to the increased trace element and vitamin content, please do not feed more than 120g per horse per day.
- Due to the top quality nutrients, an additional "all-in-one" mineral feed is not necessary. We recommend using the No. 17 Feuerstrahl supplement as well.
