Description

German packaging: Nr. 12 Otto

There are many reasons why horses might experience loose stool or diarrhoea. In many cases, allergic reactions, inflammation or stress can cause digestive problems. Consult your vet before treating your horse yourself. Your vet should also check for worms.

Diarrhoea that occurs during autumn or at the beginning of the stable season, often indicates contaminated basic feed (hay, straw). Food that is contaminated with mould can lead to diarrhoea in sensitive horses. Diarrhoea at the beginning of the spring and pasture season, indicates metabolic disorders that may be related to an overworked liver. Loose stool that is triggered by stress should also be countered with a diet rich in the trace element zinc.

Natural tannins

A lack of natural tannins or a lack of special leaves, barks, roots and herbs in your horse's foraging diet can be another reason for loose stool. Tannins have anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antiviral effects an also neutralise toxins. They are contained in special parts of the plant and have a positive effect on digestion.

No. 12 Otto

This herbal mix includes a selection of fine leaves, bark and roots that are particularly rich in tannins and other ingredients that support digestion. Plants containing bitter substances have also been included to improve bile flow and liver function. Many of the herbs grow in the forest on particularly acidic soils. Incidentally, acidic soils offer the plant better availability of trace elements.
