Description

Recent research has shown that the trace element requirements of today can no longer be met by the basic feed. The contents of zinc, copper, selenium and manganese in hay alone have dropped by half since the 1970s, depending on the soil pH, and have thus dropped significantly.

Signs of Trace Element Depletion

The signs of trace element depletion are really manifold. They can start with performance deficits and nervous disorders such as restlessness, jumpiness or mental instability. But often skin, coat and hoof problems occur as well. The change of coat is slow and in older horses, the topcoat starts to become longer and curlier. The hooves grow only hesitantly, are often brittle or tend to rot. Pigmentation disorders and faulty colouring may occur.

Eczema and Allergy

In particularly severe deficiency situations, feeding-related eczema and itching may develop, but also immune system disorders such as susceptibility to infections and increased allergy.

Chronic bronchitis, digestive disorders with diarrhoea or a tendency to defecate can also be caused by a lack of zinc, copper, manganese and selenium, as can tension, muscle problems, cartilage degradation, osteoporosis, bone formation disorders and metabolic problems such as Equine Metabolic Syndrome (EMS) or Equine Cushing Syndrome (ECS).

It is particularly regrettable that alternative (subtle) healing methods do not work when a trace element deficiency prevents the tissues' ability to regenerate within the framework of self-healing.

Trace Element Deficiency in Foals - A Sad Certainty

Numerous studies on horses have shown a connection between leg problems and an undersupply of trace elements, especially copper in foals and growing horses. Zinc, copper, selenium and manganese deficiencies are now scientifically confirmed to be the cause of postural defects, short stature, as well as chip formation or osteochondrosis.

No. 4 Gold Value - Fast and Highly Efficient

Dr. Weyrauch No. 4 Gold Value is characterised by the use of highly bioavailable trace elements in chelated form, embedded in a base of the finest herbal, spice, fruit and root components, naturally in food quality. The ratios of the trace elements to each other are harmonious and based on the results of many years of research. The binder-, flavour- and additive-free preparation, the absence of added bulk elements such as calcium, phosphorus or magnesium and artificial vitamins as well as the chelated form enable a particularly natural nutrient uptake and significantly improve availability without burdening the metabolism. Due to the extremely economical use with high bioavailability, the danger of disturbances of the mineral balance or displacement reactions is extremely low compared to many similar products. This means that even severe trace element deficiencies can be reliably remedied in the long term. The use of only organically bound trace elements also conserves vitamin reserves (Shurson et al.1996).

Feeding Recommendation:
