Horses experience lots of changes as they age - changes in their metabolisms, reduced ability to recover quickly, abrasion or loss of teeth. These are all signs of advancing age in horses. Since older horses have more trouble chewing, their feed needs to be adjusted accordingly.

One major problem is that wear to their teeth makes it harder to chew basic feed. This can lead to insufficient raw fibre intake, weight loss and disturbed intestinal flora.

PreAlpin Senior is ideal for older horses or horses that cannot chew well. It consists of 3-20 mm long fibres that are cut small enough that they are similar to the size they would be if your horse could chew them. The recipe also contains cold-pressed linseed oil that supplies essential fatty acids.

Feeding recommendation:

• As a basic feed substitute (100% hay substitute): 1.5 kg per 100 kg body weight daily
• To enhance the basic feed, adjust the amount of basic feed given - 1 kg Pre Alpin Senior replaces 1 kg hay, moisten with water if necessary
• As a substitute for concentrated feed: 1.2 kg PRE ALPIN SENIOR replaces approx. 1 kg grain
